Part II of Maryland's Required 16-Hour Training

Includes Utah-Certified Firearms Familiarity Training

Program Overview

The Maryland Wear & Carry Training Program is designed for responsible firearm owners who are ready to advance their knowledge, skills, and understanding of concealed carry. This program combines classroom instruction, legal education, practical application, and live-fire qualification to prepare students for the responsibilities of lawful concealed carry.

Building upon the foundation established in the Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) Training Program, this advanced training program prepares students to safely, responsibly, and legally carry a handgun for personal protection while emphasizing sound judgment, situational awareness, and responsible decision-making.

At Assured Shot Training & Safety, we believe that carrying a firearm is more than obtaining a permitβ€”it's accepting the responsibility to protect yourself and others through knowledge, discipline, and continuous learning. Our mission is to develop knowledgeable and responsible armed citizens by building the assurance that comes through professional firearms education.

Program Prerequisite

This training program satisfies Part II of Maryland's required 16-hour Wear & Carry training requirement.

Completion of Part I is required before enrolling.

Students who successfully complete the Assured Shot Maryland HQL Training Program have already fulfilled Part I of the state training requirement, and those hours will be applied toward this program.

  • Criminal behavior recognition and pre-attack indicators

  • Situational awareness and defensive strategies

  • Developing a responsible defensive mindset

  • Less-than-lethal force options

Utah Non-Resident Concealed Firearm Permit Training

As part of this training program, students will complete the Utah-certified firearms familiarity training required to apply for a Utah Non-Resident Concealed Firearm Permit.

Please Note: Utah requires most applicants who reside in a reciprocal state to first obtain a valid concealed carry permit from their home state before applying for a Utah Non-Resident Permit.
